Practical consulting for owner-managed businesses

Ambitions First Group works with founders and small teams on the parts of a business that keep slipping — planning, process and follow-through. We keep the scope tight, put everything in writing, and stay with you while it is put to work.

Written findingsEvery engagement ends with documents your team can act on.

Why owners call us

Consulting that survives contact with a busy week

Most small businesses do not need a transformation programme. They need a clear look at how the business runs today, a short list of changes in priority order, and someone to keep the work moving once the diary fills up again.

Fixed scope, fixed feeYou approve a written scope and fee before any work starts.
One named leadThe person who scopes the work is the person who delivers it.
Plain EnglishNo frameworks for their own sake — only what your team will actually use.

Services

Six ways we work with you

Each service is delivered as a defined piece of work with its own documents, checkpoints and sign-off. Take one, or combine them into a programme.

How it runs

Four stages, each with something in your hands

You always know what stage we are at, what we need from you, and what you will receive at the end of it.

Stage 01

Diagnose

We look at how the business runs now — numbers, workload, and where the week disappears.

Stage 02

Plan

You get a written plan with priorities, owners and dates. We agree what we are not doing, too.

Stage 03

Deliver

We work alongside your team while the changes are made — not from a distance.

Stage 04

Review

We check what worked, what did not, and what the next round of work should be.

What you receive

Documents your team will actually open again

Every engagement produces a small set of working documents. They are written to be used in the business, not filed away in a folder.

  • Written findings with the issues ranked, not just listed
  • A process map of how work flows today, with the weak joins marked
  • A responsibility grid so nothing sits between two people
  • A phased plan with dates, owners and a realistic order
  • Meeting cadence and review points your team can keep running

Working together

Built around the time you actually have

Owner-managers are in the business all day. We plan the work around that, not the other way round.

  • Sessions booked in your quiet windows, with an agenda sent beforehand
  • Short written updates after every meeting so nothing depends on memory
  • We work with the tools you already use before suggesting anything new
  • One point of contact for the whole engagement

We agree what changes

Findings are ranked by impact and effort. You decide what goes into the plan and what waits — the priorities stay yours.

Questions

A few things owners ask first

How do we start?

With a free 30-minute discovery call and a short questionnaire. If the work looks like a fit, you receive a written scope, a fixed fee and a start date. Nothing is invoiced until you approve it, and there is no obligation to continue after the call.

How is your fee calculated?

By the piece of work, not by the hour. Each engagement is quoted as a fixed fee after the discovery call, based on the areas involved and the number of sessions. Expenses are agreed in advance and itemised separately.

What size of business do you work with?

Mostly businesses with two to fifty people, run by an owner who is still involved day to day. If you are larger, we will tell you honestly whether the way we work suits you.

Do you promise particular results?

No, and we will say so in writing. We are accountable for the quality of the analysis, the plan and the support we give. How well a plan performs depends on decisions and effort inside your business, which we do not control.
